I have now returned this fun-to-drive vehicle to the dealer for a third time regarding water problems. The first time, less than a month after I took possession of the car (August 2009) at the dealer, it was a flood inside due to a bad factory seal in the moonroof. The interiors of the front and back of the car were soaked, as well as the console and the electrical wiring under the seats. The car was at the dealer's for about one week. The second trip back to the dealer for water problems happened about three months ago, and I was told that the water problem was caused by spider webs and spiders in the air conditioning unit's hose. The car was at the dealer for repair for three days. The third time was last week, and after three or four days at the dealer, my car was again repaired with a new replacement hose and I was told: more spider webs and spiders in the hose. I just don't believe it. Does anyone else have this problem?
Also, Subaru really let us repeat Subaru owners down with the 2010 model (I had the 2005 model and traded that one in): How could they make the side view mirrors stationary and non-folding? Are they going backwards in techological innovation? What a letdown. I didn't notice that the 2010 model didn't have fold-back side mirrors (which my 2005 model did) and had I been told that before I purchased the new 2010 model, I would NOT have completed the purchase. My dealer has now informed me that there are add-on foldback mirrors available and I just paid him over $200 for that upgrade. And I had thought Subaru was a cut above. Sad, but true in NY. First year models have some bugs to work out always! Thats why if your a little sensitive to bugs you never buy a 1st year model. Some people get all worked up over a car dude just a couple of years ago cars didn't have seat belts were built like crap - had all kinds of quality issues and some how most people survived! |

Rule405,
Has the metal under your front seats started to rust yet? I looked under the seats of my 2011 Legacy two days after I took delivery and the metal was all rusted. I can't figure it out, going by the dealer tomorrow so they can photograph it. -Cuz |

are you still having the problem?i found the problem and told 2 dealers and even took it in to show them that there is a design flaw in there . they said that they have no complaints of water inside the interior . i have a 2010 and it floods every rain. i tore the interior apart to dry it. the water is coming from a wheel well plastic plug that holds the plastic wheel well in place . the plug is unsealed and the water from the windshild runs down into the windhild vent and drains on top of the top of the plastic wheel well that runs next to the unsealed plastic plug that the hole leads into the interior .
