Default Subaru hitch mounting hardware?

Hey all,

The local salvage yard got a Outback wagon in, think it is about a 2002. I grabbed the reciever hitch off of it. I do not however have the mounting hardware, nuts and bolts. The yard had already removed it and I found it sitting in the back floorboard. It is the genuine Subaru hitch.

Does anyone have an installation book or hardware list for the size, thread and number of nuts and bolts required? Looks like a couple of long bolts and at least two other shorter ones.

Thanks.

Your local dealer can look those up for you.

Trailer Hitches, Hitch Accessories, Hitch Wiring

Click on the installation instructions and it will show you the size and quantity of all the hardware needed, then take the list to a hardware store and they will hook it up. I just did this a month ago with my hitch. Just make sure they are grade 8 bolts and you are good to go, and it's way cheaper then going to the stealership. Hope this helps

This is what I did (but for an older version Outback). Save myself quite a bit of $$$.

Just make sure you buy the appropriate grade bolts. Would suck to lose a one ton trailer because they got sheared off, LOL.

Agreed. I did buy 10.9 grade zinc coated nuts/bolts (yeah, overkill). My setup is primarily for my hitch mounted bike rack. So, it won't see much of a load compared to hauling around a trailer.
