Noticed that my idle sticks sometimes when I let off the gas, stays at about 1200-1500 rpms and a little flick of the gas pedal takes it back down to normal.
What controls the idle? Thanks pete |

The idle speed is controlled by a solenoid that opens a passage that allows air to be bled around the throttle plate. From your description though, it sounds like you might have an issue with the mechanical linkage. The problem could be anywhere between the accelerator pedal and the throttle plate. Can you carefully inspect the entire throttle linkage and cable. Look for a snagged or frayed cable. With the engine off, physically operate the throttle by hand at the throttle body (inside the engine compartment) to check for smooth operation. If your car is equipped with cruise control, which uses its own cable, that could be at fault as well. Good luck! Let us know what you find!
