Looby I suspect this is one of those cases where the dealer has a dealer sticker on the window next to the MSRP where they list the dealer price. Another example of dealer games to confuse buyers and trick people into paying too much. All the more reason we see things move in the direction of the Tesla sales model of getting rid of dealers. ;-)

The WRX is based on the old Impreza right now they have not offered it in the new Impreza platform yet which case there is a big difference between the seating room between the two. VX also has dramatically more ground clearance than the WRX.

My guess is that the new WRX will arrive next year in the new Impreza platform with the new 280hp 2L Di engine which they are currently sorting out for the BRZ. Should be a dramatically improved version of the WRX in many ways.

Most Subaru dealer websites have "Internet Prices." Those prices are usually either "call us to check price" or lower than what you would see on the MSRP in person at the lots.

As others have pointed out, a dealer can ask as much or as little as he likes,
but he can NOT modify the MSRP. That is set by the manufacturer -- and
listed on the official window sticker regulated by the US government, under
the Automobile Information Disclosure Act of 1958 (a.k.a Monroney Act).

The factory-printed "Monroney sticker" must be displayed on every new
car, and can not be modified or removed by the dealer -- under penalty
of one year in jail plus a $10,000 fine, per violation.

...knowledge is power,

Looby
