Default Space Trailer - Anyone have one of these???

I was able to speak with the owner of this company today just getting some general information. Does anyone have any feedback on these. I would be primarily using it to haul around camping gear or yardwork items with our 2013 2.5i Outback

You'll like the size - easy to store in the garage and still have lots of space etc. The metal body and composite cap is a nice combo to keep gear dry secure etc.

What are they asking for price?
Looks very similar to a lifetime trailer they sold a few years ago nearly identical actually. I wonder if its just rebranded life time trailer? They make good stuff!

i like it!

there is a thread somewhere on the board... i believe just generally asking about them, like your post.

i believe some believe price is the shortcoming of the trailer.

if you look at their facebook pics you'll see a ton of happy owners as well as those that rented the trailer.

i like the previous version of the lifetime trailer offered by costco... the price and features were great.

since that is no longer offerd i've been eyeing the space trailer.

let use know if you go this route!

The pricing is a little steep...$2500. The Lifetime Tent Trailer is the same price roundabouts and includes a tent. My angle would be to "let" the Space Trailer folks include their phone number and web address on the trailer. I also spoke to the owner about making it available to people to look at in my area. Given that they don't sell via dealers they dont have the ability to let someone kick the tires. If I let another potential owner kick the tires of mine and they sell one because of it I would say thats worth something. I also saw this nicely restores Apache camper. Even if I just use it to put my dome tent bag in one of the compartments I think it might do the job. http://indianapolis.craigslist.org/rvs/3380412084.html

That is a great size and it has some very nice features and options. I don't see much to complain about - one thing I look for is the ability to carry 4x8 sheets flat on the bed, and that can do it. There are a few things I can comment on....

What's with the weird shape of the lid? Not only is it strange looking, it intrudes into storage volume inside the box. It looks a little like an upside down bathtub.

Galvanized steel is good. Stainless fasteners are very good. But why do they use aluminum rivets? That is asking for dissimilar metal corrosion. I would ask them about this - do they use a sealant over the shanks when they install them?

Can you get electric brakes?

Other than being 75 pounds heavier, it is almost identical in dimensions to my aluminum trailer, which has proven to be VERY useful over the ten years I have owned it.

John - I cannot read the brand on your aluminum Trailer. Can you provide details. It looks like one of the Austrailian brands. Nice rig

i picked up one this summer... and i've used it most every weekend (ww kayaking, flatwater kayaking, camping with boy scouts, hauling in riding mower for service, taking yard waste to dump, home project, mountain biking, support for a 3 day road bike ride, etc).
been VERY happy with it. it is a bit pricey but it's well sorted out, and i like gear that's ready to go, no hassles.

send me a note if you want specific info...

(not associated with them, but happy customer)
