Congrats on the 13 if you're more happy with it then thats what matters. I feel alot more attached to my 13 outback than my 11 legacy.

I had a 2012 2.5i Premium and now own the 2013 2.5i Limited SAP. Granted they are close to the same vehicle but the 2013 is a much more refined vehicle.

I recently added the arch moldings, remote Smart Start, bug and moon roof decflectors. Think Im set and hanging on to this one for a bit.

So the new motor and suspension treatment is a big value add. The engine is smoother?

The more I drive it the more I dig it. Especially the suspension on it. As far as the engine it seems to be smoother.

The smoothness of the MY11 2.5 was the one thing that sold me during my test drive on the 3.6. I cold have probably lived with the CVT. There are times I wish I had a manual, but only in the turns. Never in heavy traffic.

The suspension upgrades to limit the floaty and sway and smoother engine sound like the GEN 4.2 iteration is the GEN 4 to own. How flat is it through a turn compared to your 12?

GEN 5 will be here before we know it. Will that thing be on stilts too?

I'm not sure if they have a plate that will fit a '13 but these guys make great stuff.

I hope so. The major reason I got an Outback was for ground clearance. Most of the others in this class have less ground clearance than my 99 SLS has.

Also, does the 2012 OB not have a plastic protector plate underneath the front end? The radiator is actually exposed to the ground?
A protector only works at certain angles. I had something ricochet up from a gravel road in NV and it bounced off something just right. It hit the radiator on the engine side between the fan and radiator. I heard it. I guess it bounced up just right and a fan blade caught it.

"Seems like an extreme way to go about fixing a radiator.

Reminds me of the old mechanics saying "Jack up the radiator cap and slip a new car under it"

I have never said that about a Subie. Plenty of Fords, though.
