Huh. I've never heard of anyone I know who has owned a subaru say anything negative about the ownership experience. And that's saying something considering they're more common around here than squirrels.

Subarus are like Saabs - either you love them or you hate them .... regardless of problems that you may have with them....

Well I love mine. It drives like a dream and the seats are the most comfortable seats i have ever sat in. And I'm including non-automobile seating in that claim lol!

For those of you with your first Scoobies- enjoy the winter.

Once you've stopped smiling like an idiot every time you drive the car in the snow, avail yourself of an opportunity to drive a 'regular' car around a bit. And you can then begin smiling again.

There's a reason that people in certain areas of the country buy Subarus, year after year.

I'm really waiting for winter to kick in. I'm looking foward to the 1st good snowfall so I can test my new outback in it. The "problem" is that over the past few years I've become a very conservative driver so I'll probably just drive it like I do my FWD cars anyway.

Just remember- If you can manage to get a Scooby stuck, you're really stuck. There's no button to push for more traction. By the time the Subarus can't get through, pretty much nobody's getting through to you. Just be careful if you go out to play while the snow is still coming down.

With that out of the way, I will tell you that I have plowed a mile or so of my road, two feet of snow, with the air dam of a WRX.

A Subaru with a set of Blizzaks is roughly comparable to a tracked vehicle.

i know this may sound like a fish story, but a few years ago i drove around a toyota SR5 with 33 inch tires on it, he was stuck in the snow, i drove through the ditch to get to the front of him and pulled him out, after i got him out i just kept pulling for an 1/8th of a mile just to make a point. he never said a word...

I'm new to the Subaru brand but part of what drew me in was the well established following and the glowing reviews from the buff mags.

If you depended on Automotive forums as your prime source for choosing a vehicle you're going to think that every make and model in existence is a piece of junk.

I love Saabs (pre GM of course) too but I've never owned one and probably never will.
