2007 subaru outback 3.0r stereo removal

hi guys,
new to the the forum and i was just wondering if anyone can give me the best step by step process to taking the factory unit out. Its an auto with si drive knob below the shifter then the 2 cup holders. just wondering how much i actually have to pull apart

As a start, check Subaru Technical Information System - Welcome for instructions.

Under "Online Reference", in "Publication Type" select "Accessory Installation Guide", fill in the car model year etc, and click Search. There should be several guides (all free pdf files) for changing/installing the CD changer. Find the one that best corresponds to your car. (Although the selection criteria includes your car year, these lists often have guides covering several different configurations. There are a lot of similarities, so you might want to look through the ones that are listed.)
