Default AMC Eagle

Are there any old, or perhaps current, Eagle drivers on these boards? If so, how would you compare the wagon version to the Subaru Outback? Seems to me, the OB owes a lot the Eagle.

No question they do.

Check out this awesome eagle. Rare AMC Eagle Sundancer is ultra-weird fun in the sun

My father went and bought a ne 1985 AMC Eagle when he needed a car fror snow c/

He was a retired IBM engineer and took really good care of it and din't drive it much.

In 2002 it only had 49k on the clock but clearly was a disaapointing piece of junk. Oil leaked from it everywhere and the steering locked up and he almost wrecked it when that happened while driving, so he gave it up, and I got a desparate phone call from him, "Please we need another car tomorrow.

This was in 2002.

There was only one choice for a good used car.

I went to the Subaru dealer in Sacramento and bought hin a nice dark blue 1995 Outback with 116k on it.

He used it until his death in 2006 and I inherited it, and kept it till about 122k and traded it in on a new 2008 Outback and now I have my 3rde, a 2011.

I love them and up here in snow country they can go anywhere, yet are right at home in San Francisco too. In fact I am driving there tomorrow in it. (again)

Truly they are a car for all reasons.

Cool little freak cars way ahead of their time. People thought they were jokes back when they came out.

We had the same experience when we bought an Mazda MPV All Sport four wheel drive Mini Van in 1998- It was too early for the SUV craze that took off. After they killed it and returned it to a mini van and then everyone came out with SUVs. Dohh! When we got it people thought it was a freak vehicle. We still own it and it does well off road (low gear diff lock) and plows through the deepest snow. We call her "Tiny Tank". Been one of the most reliable vehicles we have ever owned. It is getting some rust now.
