Okay, I got one.
![]() What does Ashford have to do with George Washington, you ask? Well, according to Wikipedia, James Thomas Flexner wrote in his book Washington, The Indispensable Man, 'President George Washington, returning from his tour of the country in the fall of 1789, was chagrined to be involuntarily abandoned in the village on a Sunday. It was contrary to law to hire a conveyance on that day, which was observed by villagers, to Washington's great annoyance.[2] The subtext on the welcome sign reads, "The smallest town ever to spite the largest public figure. F*** you George!." Just kidding ![]() Ashford, Connecticut - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia New challenge? Let's see... Post a picture of your Subaru among animal wildlife (domesticated animals don't count, unless you have a pet skunk or something...that pretty much counts!

Yea, I guess it should include domesticated animals too...it'll take too long otherwise. Okay, I revise the challenge to accept all Subaru-animal pictures, including domesticated.

Okay, I got a shot of my Outback with some cows this afternoon—but then the day got interesting, so I'll lead with this...
![]() Thank the gods for all-wheel drive, right? Next challenge: Simply a photo of your Subaru. With an arrow pointing to it so's we can find it. A pre-existing arrow: maybe a street or highway sign, or one of those blinking this-way-to-the-flea-market signs, or an arrow painted on the side of a brick building. The choice is yours. But the arrow must be pointing directly at your car, not to the empty space above your car, so unless your Subaru is super-lifted, you'll need to be selective about your shooting angles. That's it, now go out and have fun... |

Well played, Bootny. Actually, I think the game is off to a brilliant start; I hope we can eventually attract more people to play. Thanks for getting this started, Will!
To answer Bootny's challenge, my Outback hanging with some of Lincoln's finest: ![]() So, does anyone think Subaru developed symmetrical all-wheel drive because some Fuji Heavy Industries engineer was remembering how difficult it was to get around in the wintertime on snowy Hokkaido? Well, maybe. But motorsport was definitely a factor as well: Subaru wanted to beat the Audi Quattro in World Rally Championship competition. Later, the WRC saw a classic rivalry develop between Subaru and Mitsubishi that benefited both manufacturers, as each continually improved its cars in the struggle to gain or maintain an edge in rally racing. Therefore, in honour of Subaru's rallying heritage, here's the new challenge: your Subaru with both an Audi and a Mitsubishi. You can use two separate photos if you like, but bonus Internet points will be awarded for getting all three cars in one shot. And, because this is about competition, there's one (very slight) catch: the Subaru should be a better car than either of the other two. (Hint: Don't overthink this one!) Happy hunting! |
