Okay, I tried to make an album and post the pics on the site but can't for the life of me figure out how. I made an album and gave it a description but there is no way to upload shots or delete the album that I can see. So I put them on my site:

Peter's 2001 Outback Wagon

Nothing fancy by any means but it's an excellent first car for him.

Yesterday I took the speedo cluster out to work on some bulbs. I took the clear lens off to clean under there. Don't ask me how but the PO managed to get some liquid (coffee?) through the little hole for the clock adjust stalk. So while polishing the lens with Scratch-X I managed to crack the **** thing. Since there were more bulbs out than I liked I went on Flea-Bay and got a new cluster. I'll swap over the lens and then check which bulbs are good and fix those too. PITA to get at but not too hard.

As for the Contour, it was a 95 se, at the time there was no such thing as an SVT Contour, the thing is the first year it was sprung tighter than an SVT. After the first permutation they started to Americanize it. I traded that in back in 1999 for an Impreza RS

Looks like you did go with a JVC headunit after all. How does he like it?

I'm 20 and also have an Outback (2004 LL Bean) as my first Subaru (though not my first car).

The JVC really works out nicely, recently I've added the Blue Tooth option. That's nice because it has hands free for the phone but what I really like is I can stream Pandora from my phone and not have to listen to my Son's Scream-o Cookie Monster Music I have to say for the money it's a good system.

This week the BassWagon ticked over 200K. It's still going strong.
