Exclamation The Plasti Dip Thread - Post Your Plasti Dip Pics

If you've ever played around with Plasti Dip on you Outback post up some pics!

I tried out Plasti Dip for the first time yesterday and dipped my wheels flat black. It turned out pretty good.

Most of the videos I've seen online people just spray the wheels while they are still on the car. I actually took mine off, and it was still tricky getting an even coat. I'd imagine it'd be a lot harder with the wheels still on the car.

I'm curious how it would look to black out the chrome on the nose now...

I'm thinking about playing around with their "Blaze" colors this summer. I wonder how 'Monster Green' wheels would look with that 'Charcoal Grey' paint.

I had my wheels dipped at one point. However the car looks quite different now.

Leivasol, did you use a gloss coat(s) after using the black? It looks like your wheels have a nice "metallic" look to the black plasti dip. I dipped one set of my wheels in anthracite gray and then did a few coats of plasti dip gloss, but it didn't come out very glossy. Just trying to figure out how to get a shiny look to plasti dip after spraying..

Love the stuff though, I've dipped my wheels, rear emblems and front grill. The stuff is amazingly forgiving. Chrome window trim is next.

I just want to add my opinion here.

Things are "sprayed" with a product called Plasti Dip that comes in a SPRAY can. The original Plasti Dip product came in a can that you actually "dipped" the parts into such as pliers handles or whatever.

To say that you "dipped" your wheels rather than sprayed just isn't right. Stop it now before the whole world starts to say that.

Oh wait....

The world does say that!

It's still wrong.

Saying "dipped" doesn't necessarily refer to the action, but the product used.

Well, the website isn't SprayYourCar.com, its DipYourCar.com, so the battle is lost. :P
