550 Spyder with Subaru Engine

So, my Uncle ordered and had built a kit car of a Porsche 550 Spyder. Similar to the model that James Dean used to drive. It has the 2.2L Subaru Boxer engine in it. It took almost 8 months for it to be built by some guy in San Clemente I think.

My uncle says and I quote....it blows the doors of of a new Porsche Cayman with ease.

Right now the car is in California, where he lives, but he is having the car shipped out here (Virginia) this spring. He has a house here and is planning on moving here this summer. Can't wait to see it in person.

Check out the pics that he sent me:

Very impressive looking car! I can't see any turbo though, so I'd love to know how it can get close to the performance of a Cayman. Cayman has 180kW, best I can imagine the Subaru 2.2 having is 118kW.

Loving Turbo Diesel power

No Turbo. Based on the weight of the car, my uncle said it really isnt necessary. Who knows if he is exaggerating though. But still it is super nice looking.

Real nice. Get a great exhaust for that thing and let it rumble!

That's awesome. Yet another good home for a Subaru engine.

I've wanted to find a Lotus Europa. That and a Subaru H-6 drivetrain just behind the driver would be sweeeeet!
