Blackened Hubcaps...should I? Take a look!

So I've got the base model 6MT OB with hubcaps. They're scraped up and silver and I've plastidipped my grill black. I've got the pearl white OB and the silver hubs just don't seem to fit in, but I can't decide whether I want/like the black dipped hubs or not. I don't want my OB to look ghetto or ricer, just good looking and different. Anyone have any thoughts? I appreciate feedback!

Should I do all 4 or leave the silver scraped up hubcaps?

Not my cup of tea, but if you like it go for it.

+1 on the black. Will match the grill and the lower plastics. Full picture of the one side of your car will give a better idea.

I'm in the process of dipping all four now. I did take some side profile pics but the middle of the day sunlight is killing any hope of actually seeing my tires and wheels in the pic. Will post the finished product a little later when the lighting turns out a little better!

black it. doesnt look ghetto with black. unless your OB is janky, then the black wheels will help the car look more ghetto. white on black looks great. your mirrors are black too right? with plastidip you can always rip it off if you dont like it.

and wow i just realized the newer outbacks are 6 speed MT. makes me jealous.

i have pics of my after market black rims in a "DIY black headlight" thread. Well work the $500 for new rims. Plastidip doesn't hold up well if you are looking for a permanent mod. Dipped my grill and after 3 months it is chipping/pealing. Will be stripping it to have painted this fall now that I know I like the black. Just realized I have the pic on desktop...see attached.

mixed bag of reports i suppose. ive heard stories of people who have taken their cars through gravel roads without a single problem to their plastidipped parts (clublexus forum, people in their IS). now if you are parking and scrape the curb, thats a different story.

dipped my car on 7/10, everything still holding up great. ill report back in a year haha.

but with cheap hubcabs, its EONS easier to repaint if chipped. dont have to mask off your brakes or spray at angles to get the paint in between the sides of the spokes.

great looking OB btw. love all your blacked out parts! those black headlights are great
