2008 OBW, blue with 2.5L NA.
I am contemplating tinting the 3 rear windows of the wagon. If someone has already done this, could you post a pic or 2? What I am looking for is a little privacy in the rear storage and keeping the sun from baking the car. I still want outward visibility, so I don't know how dark the tint should be. Or what color. Thanks, Klaus |

MN state tint laws allow for 50% all around and none on the windshield. Depending on your local jurisdictions the cops may or may not enforce the tint law's until you tint the fronts really dark. My 08 OBW's rear windows are all 5% visible and i have 50% on the front sides.
I love the dark tint on the rears for keeping the summer sun and wandering eyes out while i drive and also for security, people can't see what i carry in the back so hopefully less chance of break in's. I like the 50% on the fronts but if I had the chance to do it again I'd do at least 35%vlt

Thanks for the rapid reply. I know the cops will stop me for 5%, but that looks great! Do you have any problems with visibility with it so dark?
I was thinking closer to 35%. Klaus |

Here's my '07 in Newport Blue Pearl. The 5 rear windows are tinted. Here in NJ, the front windows and windshield cannot be tinted. Sorry, I don't have any rear 3/4 views and it's dark out now. Not sure what the tint level is, it was done by the dealer.

![]() 35% all the way around with the top of the wind shield. I would prefer to have gone 20% for the rear seats and cargo area. but 35% for the front is perfect. |

I was pulled over by a MN Highway Patrol driving a Honda Accord a couple months ago due to tinted windows. The car had 50% tint on the front windows and the rest were 35% I believe. He stated that sedans can only have 50% all around but wagons, suvs, vans, and trucks can have darker than 50% on the back windows. I also have the same tint setup on the Outback and the patrolman said that was legal. By the way, I had both cars tinted at Zeibart's. They are a chain around the metro area. Paid an average of $230 including moonroofs with professional results.
