Can anyone recommend seat covers?

Hi all,

I'm looking into getting my wife a 2016 Legacy and she transports children of all ages (elementary through high school) as part of her job as a school counselor. She is dead set on Lapis Blue Pearl as the exterior color, but the Taupe is the only interior option for that exterior color.

Light colored interior + kids = visibly stained seats in no time

Since the Legacy and Outback seats are identical, can anyone recommend seat covers (looking for both front and rear) with neutral-tones (i.e. no zebra patterns)? In particular, I am hoping someone knows of some that would not impact the ability of the side airbags to deploy from the seats?

Just for anyone concerned about safety, my wife always transports younger children in the back seat.

Thank you in advance!

3 brands that get mentioned a lot;

Wet Okole
CoverCraft
Katzkin

not sure if any of those are ideal for what you're wanting.

Hi statue!

If you check some of the other posts on this site, you'll see that there are some choices for the rear seats for the kids BUT the front buckets are a different matter since they have cushion-mounted air bags which a seat cover might restrain....

My 2015 Ltd has beige leather and we're also concerned about the front seats since we wear blue jeans much of the time...........so far, the closest that we've come to seat covers are to modify beige towels to hang onto and over the seats BUT not be attached anywhere other than at the headrests........

They are now available (front & rear) from CoverKing in all their types.
And the best price I've seen for them is from JC Whitney: about $40 cheaper than the CoverKing website.
My order will go in next week once the wife decides which kind she wants.....

The owner's manual ('16 Outback) is clear: Do not use seat covers.

Good to note. However, just because Subaru is doing a little CYA with the warning label doesn't mean that seat covers cannot be manufactured to allow for safe deployment of the SRS airbag--hence why I specifically asked about seat covers which do not interfere with the airbags.

FWIW, Subaru also doesn't recommend snow tires, but I'll continue to put them on my vehicle in the winter: Subaru Does not Recommend Snow Tires

I was looking at these in ballistic cordura as well. They are the only seat covers I've looked at that specifically say that they work with side air bags. If you order these please post back with details on actual fit and quality.

On the JC Whitney website it says the ballistic cordura aren't available for the 2016 yet. Any idea where I can get them?

CoverKing's web site shows them available for 2015's but not for 2016's even though the seats are identical. Perhaps they haven't had access to a 2016 to verify the fit.
