I have successfully reduced the symptoms by adjusting the Transfer Duty Ratio Correction.
Note: Increasing this value for 04'+ does decrease the Transfer Duty Ratio %, my electrical monitoring testing verifies this.
03' and prior should be reversed, please perform your own testing to verify this.
Sorry, read about half the thread, don't have more time at the moment.. Got a link here from legacygt.com.

It looks like you adjusted the TDRC by +8%? Would that also be suitable for my '05 Legacy GT 5EAT? I get a LOT of tire squeal doing sharp turns/U-turns at low speed. I'm in NorCal, car has seen snow twice and these days we take the minivan due to more space for the kids + gear. So, it'll only ever see dry or rain. I have a modified turbo/ECU + Accessport v1 tune, so it's putting out maybe 50-70 more whp than stock at full throttle, but at these speeds (10-20 mph) that's not coming into play. I have fairly new 225/45/17 Michelin Pilot Sport AS+, so the tires aren't super cheap.

OT questions:
I also have a very lumpy/rough idle that I'm hoping the idle adjustment will help - when cold and I first shift into gear it nearly stalls/whole car vibrates. If I rev once to 4000+, gets significantly better. Once fully warm, mostly goes away. It's worst when "half warm" - car will stall half the time if sitting at a light and AC is on. With AC off, not as often.

Could this all be transmission related? Or possibly low alternator output? Turning off lights seems to help a little. Anyway, mostly interested in the TDRC help, will try to work out the rest on my own.

Thanks for any hints.

The rough idle combined with the learningview you posted on legacygt.com makes it look like a leak. Negative fuel trims point to a boost leak post turbo. It's reducing fueling because it's losing metered air. At least that's where I'd start.

Never mind - it appears all I can adjust on my '05 LGT is "Center Differential Clutch Pressure". But, worked great for adjust idle!!

Ok, so Seabass thinks Center Differential Clutch Pressure is the same adjustment on my '05 LGT 5EAT? Go ahead and try +8%?

I assume it will add a blanket pressure amount. I think it uses kPa. So if you put in +8, it will only add 8kPa which is not much.

So.. Purchased my VAG-COM KKL 409.1, Installed drivers and FreeSSM. Plugging it into the OBD plug under the hood release latch. It can initialize in the preferences, but give me an error trying to go to ECU or TCU:

Communication Error:

- No or Invalid Answer fron ECU

Any ideas?

My vehicle is a 2001 Outback AT

Just an off-the-wall suggestion: look for a program called "Learning View" and run that first. For some reason, I needed to run that first the other day, before freessm would run.. Not sure why, or if I had to do that before, but it seemed like that was the only way to get freessm to connect yesterday..

Just tried learning view 0.6a. It says that my ECU is not supported. I have a 2001 Subaru Outback wagon. Automatic 4cylinder. HELP!

According to the FreeSSM website it should be good. However, I found that it's not "plug-and-play". Perhaps you've done this already, but in case not, see my post at my first try for the steps I took to get it going.

Yeah your post was the first place I turned. I just dont understand how the interface test can pass but I can't log into the ECU or TCU. Always gives a communication error. So frustrating.
