I think it was my first mod. Far superior to the factory mud catchers (which often warp and create huge gaps). Do they cost too much? I think they're priced too high, but they keep the car cleaner, are FAR superior in snowy conditions and look great. I'm not finding them too short at all, but that's my opinion. No additional noise what so ever.

I put a set on my OB when I lived in VA....seems to help with the rocks and such. Not sure how it does with snow. Now that I live in Colorado pretty much every car is dirty up to it's windows (and then some).

Has anybody attempted making their own with an actual mudflap? You could possibly make two sets out of one heavy truck mudflap.

Just a thought.

I have seen DIY flaps made from one $5 Rubbermade office waste basket or even HDPE fexible cutting boards on the 'net.
