Default Outback 2.5xt exhaust

I know there have been a number of posts about the lack of performance exhaust and the question of what will work and not work. I just installed the Borla system part# 140123 on my 2006 Outback 2.5xt wagon with minimal problems. The only extra thing you will need is a torch to heat up the hangers on the mufflers and to heat the pass side pipe to clear the sway bar. That is it. Everything else bolts up will no problems. It took less than an hour on the lift. The The rear muffler hangers do not have to be modified.

Have you had enough time for any impressions yet? How is the sound? Any noticable performance increase?

The Borls system is really nice. Not too loud, just right if you ask me. Not enough time as far as the performance goes, but it sounds MUCH better.

I assume you have stock exhast in front of the catback?

I'm about to put my Greddy SP2 exhaust on this weekend & have nothing stock front of the catback & am hoping against hope that it will not be too loud...

I tried to get the SP2 and had no luck. Greddy said there are none in the country and would be at least 6 weeks. I didn't want to wait. And yes it is all stock up front.

JFrancis...

Wondering if you've got any follow-up to the Borla? I just contacted them (they're in Oxnard, very near me) to see about putting the same system you installed on my Outback...

You mentioned heating some of the fitment up so that it would fit over the swaybar, etc - any issues with hitting or near miss in the suspension action? Also, any issues with the tips touching the rear bumper?

And Jazzy - because i'm considering the Greddy system you mentioned - any updates on how it's going for you?

Thanks all!
Shank...

Well, it looks really good... it's sitting all shiney & bright in my garage. I'm still waiting on gaskets though before I can install it - I was sick as a dog all week anyway, so I wouldn't have had a chance to install it yet.

I promise - if I ever get to install it - I'll report back.

Thanks for the update Jazzy....

Will your install require any mods to your rear bumper? Pics I've seen of th SP2 show the install on a LegacyGT with tips straight out...

Cheers...
