Flashing Sport light

I was wondering if anybody else has had a problem with the "sport" light flashing on the dash. It will do it usually while on the highway regardless of which mode the tranny is in. Restart the motor and it does not come back on, sometimes for days. Car is running perfectly, tranny shifts and behaves normally, fluid level normal, no other indicators. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Hi JG,
It's funny. I've got exactly the same problem with my Outback. Whenever I get on the freeway, regardless of whether I have the car on Cruise control or not, the 'sport' light switches on and starts to flash. Like you, I switch the car off and it then the light goes off. I'm taking the car to a mechanic next week and I'll let you know what he says. I'll keep you posted mate. I think it's a computer fault.

"Flashing Sport light" means that the transmission ECU has detected a fault in the transmission which needs the OBD codes reading to determine exactly what the fault is.
