In a mostly- new 2007 Outback, there is a good deal of wear and cracking in the rubber weather stripping above and in the front of the driver's side and pasenger's side front windows. To see it, you have to open the door, and this is about 1/3 of the way from front to back and still over the slanted portion of the window, on the top of the door frame. Is this common? Any quick fixes or ideas? Do I need to worry about replacement of the rubber or leakage?

Welcome. Are you talking about the seal from the car to the glass (window) or a bit more into the rubber?

This is the rubber seal from the car to the window. The rubber is cracked and abraded, and in an identical location and degree to the seal on the passenger side window.

I think that may be unusual for such a newer car.
Hmm... Brian
