I have a 2003 outback. When i bought the car it had been filled as a total lose claim with the dmv and repaired. I have had the car for two years and have never had any issues with it until oct of last year.
The driver side head light went out and so I replaced both of them. Since that time I have had to replace both head lights three times each. I've taken the car into my mechanic twice and they could not determine why the lights were burning out. He advised that I take the car into an electrical specialist. Has anyone had this problem and does any have advice as to what steps to take next? Would anyone recomend taking the car into a subaru dealer to have them look at it? Thanks |

Hi kevgraysubaru and
![]() There have been a few threads like this claiming the headlights burn out frequently. What brand head bulbs are you running? Some of the aftermarket bulbs do not seem to last as long, especially sylvania silverstars. Also you probably already know you cannot touch the bulb's glass part with your fingers or get any dirt or oil on it during install. Otherwise its life will be greatly reduced. |
