On my OB 2002. Im not sure what the part is called but i need to remove the strip/trim above the front window to replace the little plastic "wing" that is attached under. How is the trim attached? Look at the picture.

I asked one of the bodymen here in the shop and if you manage to pry this moulding off, and save the clips, you need to get into bodywork. You will probably bend the moulding and break all the clips. Resond if you need to know anything else.

i was going to say plastic clips but i wasn't sure.
reminds me of when i did body work when i was a kid, mercedes was notorious for disposable body clips ...... we ordered huge boxes of them. i remember the first time i pulled a door panel off and it had the male female plastic push in clips that actually were reusable ......... what a novel idea. my usual method for anything like this is a couple wide putty knives that are thin but still stiff ..... wrapped with electrical or duct tape and go slow. always nice to check if you can get a new part, if it's already painted, how much it is and use that to decide how bad i want to take the part off ;] |

This was not hard at all!
I have successfully removed the clip and replaced it with a new one. Not hard at all. just loosen the rubber-list around the clip, under the rubber, the clip is attached to the frame with a regular Philips-screw. Unscrew and voila! This was a while ago, but still, maybe someone could use this information

i have been wondering how to get these off too because mine have most of the paint peeled off and i have been thinking about repainting them, or perhaps stripping them to get a chrome look. ores anyone know if the trim piece on the rearmost window comes off too?
