Changed out battery and now alarm is mad

Hi I previously posted on this but need more help.
I have a 1997 Subaru Legacy Outback 2.5L 4Cyl

I replaced the battery and now the Alarm keeps going off, it will stop then once I touch something it goes off again. I can't start the car and need to go get my emissions test tomorrow.

Last bit of advice I got was to use my remote (don't have one)
Also to hold down a black button under the dash while starting the car, can't find the black button to try.

Please help,
Thanks
Wes

If it has a factory code alarm system, try this for the button location and reset procedure.

If it's another system you might need to get another remote or remove it and rewire the system so the ignition is not interrupted.
