Hi,
I got a leaky oil pressure sending unit in a 2001Outback with 6 cyclinder. Is the oil pressure sending unit on top below the ALT or on the bottom pan. How EZ to get to and R/R. CU at Sea, |

Looks to be on the right side of the block, above the oil filter, next to the small coolant hose that goes to the oil cooler block.

does any one have any recommendations on an oil pressure gauge?
looks like haynes manual states oil pressure to be 14 psi @ 600 rpm, and 43 psi @ 5000 rpm. can anyone confirm this? starting to think my sooby needs more than I bargained for. |

About right for the 2.5. However, I'm not sure that's what a gauge would indicate because that spec is for the pump capacity (see attached), whereas the likely measuring point (e.g. where the oil pressure warning light switch is located) is somewhat downstream, after the oil filter.
