No need to remove glovebox. Just three screws that hold the blower motor casing to the rest of it. Take your time and make sure you have adequate lighting to make the job easy.

Between the elimination of that annoying sound and the recent replacement of the right rear wheel bearing, the car is sooo much quieter!
