Need opinion for 100k maintenance. Going to dealer for 100k timing belt change. The dealer quoted two options with price quotes. $450 for just the belt change... or $900 for timing belt and pulley's...My question is this a scam or is it worth changing all the pulleys as well? the dealership is in Fairborne, ohio

thanks in advance

Never, ever, ever, EVER just change the belt. Absolutely change everything the belt touches.

$900 is a decent price for belt and pulleys. Does it include water pump, crank and cam seals, resealing oil pump?

might be possible to find a soob-experienced indie shop near your city. Post a request for a mechanic in a new thread. You might save a little on labor.

I second what they said about the rollers. My toothed roller was very loose and slightly wobbly after 9 years but only 50K miles !
