This is kind of off topic... but this week at Pep Boys they are selling a 2 ton floor jack at "pre-black Friday" prices - $15.00. Plus there is a $5 rebate. So a 2 ton floor jack is $10.00.
Just thought somebody would want to know

thanks, you're right. i think i might check it out. i use one of those cheap ones all the time to raise a wheel off the ground. as long as you don't work under it.

Nothing wrong with that for $10
I've got something similar in a carrying case to throw in the truck if I need it. It has lifted one corner of several fullsize trucks on several occasions. Never work under any car with out jackstands, I use a jack and stands any time I'm under there and I have a fullsize 4 ton floorjack that has never lost pressure [dropped after a period of time]. When I'm feeling extra paranoid ... I shove the wheel under there too, sort of a "trail jackstand". |
