Antifreeze Smell Coming From Vents/Window Fogging

1996 Outback 2.2L 210,000 miles

Hi. Today I noticed an antifreeze smell inside the cabin of my car and my windows were fogging up terribly. I noticed the smell stops (or significantly lightens) when I change the temperature control to cool. The engine is not overheating and I have not lost coolant. I have no dampness on either side of the floorboards. Does this still sound like a bad heater core? Any other suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!

Mine started doing that when I sprung a leak under the hood in my case it was the 2.5L with the external HG leak. Pop the hood and so some snooping I bet you find a leak. Worst case your heater core sprung a leak
