Default Road noise and Fuel Gauge

I have an 05 OB 3.0. with 80K on it. Itis an automatic. I notice much road noise but only on highways, sort of a low-medium hum drone, not wind noise. It is noticeable and people comment on it. tires are the same in manufacturer and wear.Having had an 99 and 01 OB before this, it seems the 05 is by far the loudest, normal? Since the noise is not there when off highways, I do not think it is wheel bearing as it is not high pitched or metallic sounding. thoughts? am I wrong about bearings?

the car gets about 20 mpg. However, it seems the fuel gauge is not telling me the truth. I put gas in it, drive it like 10 miles and the gauge shows a good drop. It also is slow to register when the you first start it up, like it takes 5-10 min. So, how can I test it to spec? If the mpg is actually 15mpg, how can I improve it? My 01, 2.5, stick, got much better mileage.
