Question ABS light

Wondering if anyone else has had this problem on a 2002 outback 5MT: abs light has been on for a while with no codes showing up. Have checked all wheel sensors - all clean. Have replaced fuse and swapped out abs pump/control unit with a known good one. Wires as far as I can see look fine.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

How did you check for ABS codes? Most OBDII code readers will not access the Subaru ABS diagnostic system.

Default codes

Good Morning,

I did just use the normal OBDII code reader. Any suggestions on how to access the ABS system codes?

Thanks

Normally requires the dealer's scan tool, the Subaru Select Monitor. However there is a manual procedure that I have from the 2003 service manual that might work. See attached procedure and tables of the corresponding ABS codes.

Hope this helps -- let us know.

Smile Thanks!

This is great - thank you. I am working away from home for the next few days but will try it when I get back.

Be interested to know if it works, and of course, if it identifies what's wrong.

It all worked fine - took about 2 minutes to work it out. Looks like it is the rear right side sensor. For anyone else with abs concerns this is a really quick and easy diagnostic tool.
Thanks again for your help.
