Default What locations should be used for jacking up my '01 OB

I want to get under the car for an oil change and a couple other p.m. items.

I've got a floor jack but where are the right locations to lift on?

Can I go on the front crossmember and either the differential housing in the rear?

Also, where should jack stands be placed? front and rear.

Seems like a silly questions but I haven't worked on a Subaru before and don't want to wreck anything. It's a new car to me!

The short answer is, yes and yes. The crossmember and the diff are lifting points. (Or as in my case, the rear skidplate over the diff.)

There are probably many places to put jackstands, but I put them at the siderails, with the standing pinchweld seam projecting into the gap in the stand saddles.

...he said, having failed to take pics of exactly this when he did a rear brake job last week...
