Default pinion gear

I found part of the pinion gear after draining the front diff. I had to use a magnet to fish 'em out.

Based on the evidence in that picture, I'd say you will meet a tall dark handsome stranger, and will have a long and prosperous life.

I'm sure Scooby is one of the very few who could.

If ya wanna get technical only the Front differential boke so the actual trans . is ok.

The trans. and F. diff. are married so it was time for a divorce....lol!

Let's just say I'll be treating them easier for awhile until I get a 5psd(5MT) with Nissan transfer case(lo-range baby).

Default Rebuild

I pulled the 4EAT out and started replacing the pinion gear/bearing. Also I disassembled the front diff. . I found that the spider gears were suspect with pitting so I'm replacing those too. I have a new ring gear.

I went over to Rallitek's new shop @ IPD...Suby Solutions is no longer and has been replaced by Rallitek after the merger. Nice facility & Marc is really kewl...
My reason for the trip was to check out he new shop and pick up a new 4EAT trans mount bushing( I chose the soft version ). The busing actually is pressed inbetween the existing bushing for more support...a brilliant design! I took like 2min. to install!

So far the rebuild is going extremely smooth and easier than I anticipated. If I could do this and make 2k like the dealer I'd be set..Send your 4eat my way...

Here's a couple of pics before my camera batt. died. note: the wasted pinion gear!

Default on the road again!

I got her done last night and she drove perfect....!
It was a fairly involved but easy job for me... getting parts was more of an issue....
I purchased the only carrier(spider) gears in town!(we have like five dealers here)

I will post more pics of the exploded....(pun intended) parts .

The new Rallitek trans mount(soft version) was great...very smooth on the shifts...
