Lights Won't Turn Off???

Hi all,

New to this forum (and to Outbacks for that matter). I'm having an issue with my lighting. The rear combination lights (signal, tail, marker), license plate light and front side markers won't turn off after the car is turned off (key is removed from ignition). I checked the light switch and made sure it was off, but this didn't solve my problem. I just discovered this problem this afternoon. I have a 2006 Outback 2.5i and haven't had any problems with it to this point (7 mos). Any advice would be much appreciated.

Btw, I had an oil change this morning (non-Subaru dealer). I couldn't imagine why this would impact the lighting, but I suppose there's a chance???

Thanks,
Doug

Sounds like your parking light switch is enabled. It's located on the top middle of your steering column. Or check your owners manual.

Let it Snow Let it Snow...

bsevic, you rock!

Shows how much of a newbie I am, I didn't even know that switch existed in my car! Must have been tripped when the car was getting washed earlier. Thanks for the advice and piece of mind. I thought I was going to have to get to the dealer tomorrow...

That's such a common question that I joke about it sometimes when I welcome newcomers, like "before you ask, you turn the parking lights off by..."

If you want to walk away from it but leave it lit, you use that switch.
