knocking sound when idling after 15000 mile tune up

Just got my 2007 4 cyl outback back from the dealers 15000 mile tune up and it's knocking really loud while idling. Don't think it did this before, for sure not as loud. Any ideas?

heres a video so you can hear the sound

Thanks for any help!!

Check your oil level, like asap (ok, wait until morning when it's light out )

Ok, after listening to your video, it sounds like a fan hitting the shroud, let the Subaru's have electric fans. Does the ticking increase with engine RPM?

That IS the engine making that noise. I'd bring it back ASAP.

Bring it back NOW

What exaclty did they sell you as a 15,000 mile tuneup? Acording to car101.com that should be nothing more then a oil change. Sooby isnt due for a tuneup untill 3/36, and in all hinesty, that one is there to make the dealer money. Soobys dont need one till 100,000 miles.

Also what did they charge you for this tuneup, and what did they replace.

I have a feeling you got taken by the dealer.

Hm..yah that doesn't sound especially good. What does the repair/work order say they did? Definitely check engine oil level. I hear a sound like that sometimes but not always on my '96......

That noise to me wasn't real bad. Especially with a good mic on that recorder.

Let us know the details after the tow.

Just a thought but maybe the dealer changed the oil and forgot to put it back in a he drove the car out then remebered.
It sounds like a valve tap to me .
Does it increase with rpm's.
Good idea to have it towed .
Keep us informed thanks

My car sounds like that anytime I drive next to something that can deflect sound (be it a wall, car, divider...). Of course my car is 12yrs old and is known to produce a slight tapidy-tap to let you know it's working Mine is also a more constant tap. Your sounds like its kinda intermittent.
