Just a question thanks.
Where did you run your IPod cable? I'm just in the process of installing an Alpine 126BT in an 08 Outback. Thinking of burning a hole in the center console for the IPod cable to sit in the console box.
?
Thanks
Barry

Ported,

I drilled a hole in the bottom of the armrest cubby box, and ran the cable through the center console and up into the box. I think it's a great location, easy to coil up and hide when not in use....

Just curious, what does it take to get a car into the states?

ssweet9c1,

It looks like it is fairly straightforward for a US Citizen to import a car...

https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/det...0a%20car/sno/1

Also note, my Outback is a US car that I originally imported to Canada, so it already meets all the US requirements. Speedometer is in "mph", and Temperature gauge is in °F.

an awesome shop,

Was the clutch replaced at the same time? and does the car have the appropriate USA compliant sticker in the door? (I assume it would)
how long have you owned it? where in the states did it live before you bought it? *edit* 1 owner, so you bought it new and brought it over?
Thanks
Jonathan

Hi Jonathan,

The clutch was not replaced when the engine was changed. I also assume the car has the correct sticker, and will have a look for it this afternoon to make sure....

I bought the car new at Van Bortel and imported it to Canada, so it has been in Ontario the whole time.

Found both required stickers; The EPA sticker is on the underside of the hood, and the FMVSS sticker is on the side of the door.

The car also has Polk Audio speakers, OEM Subwoofer, and Trailer Hitch (for bike rack).
