Rules for posting in classified:

1) If the item(s) you are posting about is/are for sale PLEASE ad "For Sale: or FS:" at the beginning of the thread's subject line and ad the item's location (i.e. BC, WA, CO, NY, Orlando, Toronto, 98102, TOL-T2V, etc...) at the end of the thread's subject line. It should look something like this:
SAMPLE: FS: 15" Cowpoke for cowpokers (Cowpoke, NJ)

2) If you are looking for an item to buy PLEASE ad "WTB:, Wanted to Buy: or Wanted:" at the beginning of the thread's subject line. It should look something like this:
SAMPLE: WTB: 15" Cowpoke for my cowpoker

3) Please do not criticize the seller's/buyer's, "for sale" or "wanted" items or those commenting on the item(s). If you want to critique yourself or your own for sale or wanted item(s) be our guest. If you have critiques of an item that is not yours please PM the seller/buyer and keep it private.

4) No spam or phishing in any form or links to spam or phishing in any form. Violators will be banned!

5) If your item is sold or you no longer want an item PLEASE reply to or edit your original post to reflect the changes.

6) You may only "BUMP" your "for sale" or "wanted" post once a week until sold or bought.

Some helpful tips for posting items for sale:

1) The more information about what you are selling or what you want to buy, the better.

2) It is always nice to know if you are willing to ship. This can be something like "shipping to the lower 48 states only" or "international shipping available" or you can designate that you are only willing to ship within a specific geographical area or say something like "shipping at buyer's expense." If you choose not to ship please state this as well.

3) Pictures of the actual item(s) is/are always welcome (please no bigger than 800x600). We prefer to have your original shots and not those which are copy righted posted to the board unless you have permission to do so by the photograph's maker. However, you can post a link to a website which has a picture of the item or one like it.

4) Until your "sold" or "wanted" status has changed you may "BUMP" to the top of the list once a week (please see rules).

These rules and tips are not exhaustive and may be added to, deleted from, or changed altogether by moderators and administrators at their discretion so please review from time to time. You may also use WTT for "Wanted to trade" and so on.

Please for site consistency; if your item(s) sells, trades, or otherwise is no longer available, DO NOT DELETE your thread. Just reply to it with the reason the item(s) is no longer available and close the thread.

Agreed! In fact the classifieds should be a place to sell, buy, and trade stuff not to chat about the item or otherwise, that is what PMs are for. So please just use proper and courteous netiquette and be "fair" to other users who also want to be part of this community.

How do you delete or edit a post?

You should have an "edit" button on the bottom right side of your post and next the the "quote" button. However, after a period of time this function becomes disabled. That said, as the sticky mentions, it is best to NOT delete your for sale post and just reply that it is "sold."
