Default "New EyeSight" driving assist system coming to Subaru

Subaru will unveil a new camera-based driving assist system this week at the 2010 Beijing Auto Show, called New EyeSight
the system uses cameras to detect objects in front of the vehicle and sets off an alarm to warn the driver of a potential collision hazard

i would totally buy into this. i love rocking with the cruise control on, and the cameras would help. i hate having to constantly adjust my CC because the guy in front of me can't keep a constant speed.

But this system wouldn't help you with that. Instead of you just being annoyed with the guy in front changing speed, you'd be annoyed with the guy in front changing speed AND with an annoying alarm going off every time he did.

Actually, if you read the article, it would just keep your car at a safe distance. Like all safety items like VSC, I am sure you can turn the alarm off.

Better yet, teach people how to drive and take some personal responsibility. Keeps the MSRP down on the vehicles.
