Default How not to drive your Outback

Our local news posted this picture over the Labor Day Weekend. I was sad to see this poor Outback, much newer than mine, in such a state. Someone commented on the news site that the driver had to have been going pretty fast to turn a Subaru over and I must agree.

I know that area I think he missed a turn in the frontage road which case he is lucky he didn't end up on I5 still on his lid staring down a Semi doing 75mph. Drunk Driving can wreck any car.

Not to make light of the subject of DUI, but I think this article actually has some value at showing how the Outback looked after the roll over. From what I can see it doesn't look totalled. Now it'll definitely never drive the same again but at the very least, the majority of the components are salvageable.

Based on this picture we can assume two things. 1: any occupants of the vehicle whom were wearing a seatbelt are likely fine. 2: Assuming this was a typical rollover, Outbacks are sturdy vehicles.

The legacy has had one of the higher roof strength standards for a long time. The Impreza also when it came out. By Subaru design the nature of the ring structure made for stronger roof lines than most cars of that same age bracket.

kinda hard to tell but they couldn't have been going too fast. My 2010 was way more trashed and I was doing 65 before it ditched and hit the brick retaining wall

Hmm, I wonder if the emphasised bit could explain the fact that your car was more damaged than this one?

A Subaru turns over just as easy as any car, it's not a super vehicle
