hey guys, I need to replace a half shaft on my XT and I was wondering if theres a good aftermarket company to go with? Or does everyone go with dealer parts?
1. reboot the Subaru axle. they last the life of the vehicle and replacing them is......hmm.....what's a word that's accurate but not derogatory...."unwise".
2. get a used Subaru OEM axle and reboot it. they're widely available for $15 - $45. it's an extra step but it's well worth avoiding aftermarket axles and not having issues later. this is the most problematic aftermarket part you can buy - it's well worth avoiding. Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market and they all ship now
3. FWE in Denver
4. Subaru
3 & 4 are much more costly.
