I just put down a deposit on my second Outback, a 2017 2.5 Premium and am used to the A/T tires I have on my 2011. I know that a lot of people swap the tires immediately, but am wondering what to do with the old (still brand new) tires. Do tire shops buy them?
When I had my 86 4Runner (bought it brand new), I would go to car dealerships and buy their "takeoffs" because most 4 wheelers wanted big aftermarket tires. I would typically get 4 brand new tires and wheels already balanced for about $100. I would then take the old ones off and give them away to used tire shops who would gladly take them. I did that for 278,000 miles and 13 years.
