I needed a winter setup for my '13 Outback.

$50 Forester steelies (all 4) - Craigslist

$65 Continental Extreme Winter Contact (each) - online closeout.

$60 Mount and balance.

Can of wheel paint.

Not bad for under $400!

Looks good.... I wish my OB had a dedicated set for winter tires. I never even thought to do something like this. There aren't too many wheels I find appealing on an Outback (including the various stock alloys, meh) so I don't really want to invest in aftermarket wheels...

(I'll admit I like the look of the ones in the picture over here (lgt forums). If I had something like that I'd use my stock 17's as snow shoes.)

...but I have painted steelies before, I'm down. Good thinkin'

What size are those? They look like they might be smaller than 17"

I don't think they are ugly,...the dark paint you picked makes them look kind of nice on your car.

(typically those old fozzie rims got some rust on them by now anyway).
