Even the best tires can sometimes be defective or get damaged. It is often the case that bad tires become more obvious when on the front. It seems to me that the tire dealer should observe the problem and solve it. If the car doesn't shimmy before the tires are rotated, it isn't the fault of the car.

Here's the tire story. Relentless steering wheel shimmy - Part II I'm going to test the tires on each corner to try and find the bad one. I used a dial gauge to check the run-out on the wheels and believe it is either a bad tire or a bad spindle/cheap bearing on the front right.
The tire dealer is not anxious to make it right either. See here: They call me "MR." Tire! This is a never ending "adventure" for me. Hopefully my experiences help some of you folks. |

I've had Bridgestones and Kumhos that were bad, causing vibration. And who knows? another set of Runways might be fine. bad tires happen. They are still mostly assembled by hand. Plus, it seems every time the tires are re-balanced or rotated front to rear, your symptoms change somewhat. I'm calling it, you have a bad tire.

![]() You're probably right. I just can't talk the wife unit into letting spend another dime on this old car for a while. I'll drive the **** out of these tires, so they look bad enough to swap by spring.

You will want to get rid of the vibration. It will cause a chain reaction of wear to the suspension and steering parts that will lead to more cash out of pocket.

don't kill the messenger! lol! at present, I have an 03 OBW that needs it's fuel pump inspected, rear washer diagnosed/repaired, illumination module/dimmer problem repaired; and an 06 WRX that needs it's accessory belts changed. My paypal account is empty! but I don't have tire problems! (it's only a matter of time though I'm sure) tell your wife that tires are common to ALL cars and anyone could have a bad tire. Not Subaru-related.
