Talking Pulleys installed.

Have had a set of these sitting on my workbench for almost a year now. Finally got them installed since the timing belt and water pump was due anyway. (107k miles)

Will check over the next couple of weeks to see if there's any noticeable gain in performance or mileage. Besides the gains in my imagination!

Default Update

After a few hundred miles with the new pulleys, here's what I've noticed.

From a dead stop, the engine feels a bit more spry off the line and seems to rev a bit more freely. Cruising at hwy speeds is about the same although acceleration from 60 to 80 feels smoother and easier.

That's my report based on the somp-ometer!

Seems kind of a waste to bother to upgrade these non turbo cars.

In fact, the NA engines (like mine) will benefit marginally more from this mod. The turbo engines reportedly do not "feel" the effects of the lightened pulley(s).

Au contraire, mon frère.

With a N/A car that doesn't have the added benefit of a turbo or supercharger, reducing the weight of the crank pulley is an easy and inexpensive mod to squeeze a bit more power out of the engine.

Every bit counts when you're full time AWD. The modified exhaust, lightened pulleys and transmission reprogramming made a very noticeable difference in my A8.

Our next car will be C63 AMG.

We have a lightened crank pulley on our 99 2.2L N/A engine.

It's not a Group A but works just fine with the Delta Camshaft heads and cams.

Default Crank Pulley Is In and Running!

Thanks for the great price on this, Chris @ Touge!

Just getting the "feel" of it on my commute to work (mainly highway) and the engine "feels lighter" and there's just a hint of better throttle response at (as reported by wbanas in one of the preceding posts) the low end (idle to say 3000 rpm) and between 60 ~ 80 mph.

So far, I am

Got mine installed on the my 98 OBW the other day. Very pleased with the piece. I am maintaining speed up hills that my car would shift down on before. Hopefully I will see some mileage improvement.
