Default First time Subaru owner from MA

Hey everyone, my name is Shawn and im 22. I just bought my first Subaru. It's a 1998 Subaru outback wagon, automatic, heated leather seats and has 196k miles. I'm a huge jeep Cherokee enthusiast and decided to finally branch out for my new fixer upper project while I daily drive my Cherokee. I bought the Subaru from a high school friend who said the motor was blown, tranny was slipping, and the AWD was blown. I bought it for $700 unseen knowing a year ago (13000 miles) it had the head gasket, water pump and radiator replaced. Once I got it home I found out all the problems, it has an oil/transmission leak landing on the exhaust causing a lot of smoke (explains the "blown" motor) and the awd seems blown because it had a wrong size rear tire and the awd fuse pulled. I'm hoping to make this a nice little daily driver for myself or my girlfriend. Looking forward to future posts!!
