Default Wow... this is my story Doug!

Subaru Outback 2005... Same story, same mileage... and faced with a quote of from a small, respected, shop.
Haven't checked with the dealer yet. Just had a check-up in November 2011, and no leaks. Thought it was just a timing belt issue... but now a belt, and gasket issue.... Not sure what I'm going to do...

Keep looking. The dealer would probably be much less expensive than these guys. $300 for the head gaskets?? $280 for the bolts??? Over $800 for all the timing components/water pump??? Got to be kidding, but what do I know? Maybe that car is that expensive.

That price is insanely high.

Shop around.

How bad is it leaking? From one head or both?
