I guess luck is not on my side, no one in Asheville,nc rents this kit.. None of the advance autos or AZ.. I even had to give a part number to one of the advance auto for the to know what iwas talking about.. just in case someone needs it for the future..Part No. UVU560000
Buy Uview Combustion Leak UVU560000 at Advance Auto Parts

All these places offered was a pressure test system that attaches to the radiator cap and does a leak down test..

Hey Bingo6104. I am literally having the exact same problems! It's uncanny to me the similarity. I rented the kit last night from AutoZone. I did the test today and it came out negative. Meaning no hc's in the coolant. I'm at a loss of what to do. If you figure anything out or have any questions please get in touch with me. My post is under 98 t-stat problems. Good luck! And I would call around to a few places. It took me like five different stores to find one. AZ calls it a "Block Tester" and the part number for is:27145 and the fluid part number is: 25739. They are both listed under the Loan-a-tool link and diagnostic tools.

Well unfortunate , mine was the HG. Another test is to take your radiator cap off and start the car , with the coolant full if its starts to over flow its the HG. Thats what lead me to mine. Just got mine back for a HG and seal job. Got 190k on the old gasket
