Default Headgasket class action website

http://www.subaruproblems.com

Apparently some folks are trying to get a "class action" status by getting enough people to sign up.

The "leaking" car is a WRX. That has a 2.0 liter turbo four, not the 2.5 liter engine that has head gasket leaks.

That's a WRX? I thought it looked like a Impreza Outback Sport Wagon.

I'm going by the hood scoop, which N/A cars don't have stock. Could be a "fauWRX" though

ah it could certainly be! I forgot there is a wrx wagon as well. I don't think the impreza sport wagon has the scoop either since that's for what the intercooler or something?

Anyway, that website just seems to be a way for that law firm to drum up business. I haven't heard of many class action law suits of this type. I mean I think Subaru handled the deal pretty well anyway, offering to extend the warranty if the recall radweld stuff was put in and whatnot, though it doesn't follow well to the infamous blown headgasket issues of the '98 era 2.5L's.

I'm moving this thread into the Head Gasket sub-forum and making it a sticky thread.

While the website/lawsuit in question looks a bit amatuer, it's worth a shot for people who've had this problem, and there are a lot of those people.

Overall I think the general consensus is that Subaru has handled this situation poorly, at best, rarely admitting any actual fault in their design or product, and rarely paying for the actual repair unless the consumer had strictly followed the maintenance schedule, etc...

Good point, I probably just think Subaru handled it well because i haven't had the problem (yet!); once/if it happens to any of my vehicles I'll think they handled it poorly.

Unhappy head gasket leaks on 2.5

If theres a lawsuit involving this 2.5 engine then that might alleviate some of my customers dismay when I tell him I just did his water pump only to find out it HAD a head gasket leak before I started the job. To top it off he doesn't speak english and I don't speak spanish so we've had a helluva time communicating as it is! Yea I got this poor thing back together only to have him drive it less than ten miles before the ovewrflow tank blew boiling water all over the engine compartment scaring the bejesus out of the guy in the process. I was clueless until I found this site and I really thank all you folks for all the helpful info!

The sad thing on class action lawsuits, the lawyers make a ton of money, the litigants get a coupon.

Subaru could handle it better, but they aren't doing a bad job. Its not like Land Rover which is telling people they are on their own when they cylinder sleeves move. GM Ford And Chrysler are handling them poorly too.
