I decided to switch to ethanol free on the Outback. ~$0.19 extra per gallon for my local place. Only one place nearby has it.
I am on the 2nd tank now. About half way through the 1st tank the engine became smoother and had more power. Very nice. It appears as my MPG has gone up as well. However, the 1st tank included a 175 mile road trip home during Labor Day traffic. Time will tell my mileage when I am on the 3rd tank since I am back to the regular commute. |

And with it being a solvent it likes to rot rubber and plastic fuel parts. I lost a fuel pump to the ethanol crap we have to burn now. My OBW doesn't like it at all...even with 93 octane.
