Ok, I took the plunge and ordered the new V-rated Yokohama Envigors from TireRack. Guess I will be the guinea pig in the name of science
I'll post a review after I have had a chance to log some miles. Too bad they weren't here today or else I would really be able to test out hydroplaning resistance!!! On another note - Anyone want to buy a slightly used set of Conti's???

I've had Yokahama tires on my last two vehicles. I usually stuck with the Parada Spec-X's, though. I'll be curious to see what you think of the AVID ENVigor tires.

Ok, got the Yokohama Avid Envigors installed today and what a difference they make! These are exactly what I wanted perfromance-wise from my OB tire
Likes Handling is more responsive Tracking is more precise Better on-center feel Eliminates tread squirm and sidewall flex Neutral Ride is a little firmer Directional tire Dislikes None yet other than "cost" of abandoning Conti's after 500 miles I'll post an update after they break-in and see some more varied road conditions. |

I too just put on a set of Yokohama AVID ENVigor 225/60R-16 H '04 LL Bean. I'll post some feedback after I get some miles on them. I can say that after the initial spin, I am really impressed. I am coming from poo-poo Potenzas. I have hi-speed driver training and a good bit of track time; I plan on ripping it up this weekend to feel the new rubber out.

I also purchased a set of Envigors this week. WAY quieter that the Triple treads. I can't tell much difference in handling, except no hydroplaning in the rain now. It seems to be a slightly softer ride, but not significantly so, but more comfortable (the TT were sometimes punishingly firm). I'm worried about snow traction with the lack of sipes in the tread design, but we've got a few months before THAT is a concern.

Picked up set of the Envigors for my 2001 Outback Sedan this morning. Will hopefully be getting them mounted within the next week!
The local tire shop has asshats for employees and they scratch wheels like you can't believe. But the owner is still a good guy and sells tires at good prices. So I'm waiting on the generousity of a buddy to mount them with his tire machine. I'd rather have marks on my wheels that are my fault, then some lazy person who just doesn't give a **** about doing things the right way even if it is their job... But off the negativity, I'm super happy to have new tires for my subaru! These will be replacing the most horrid Michcilen's on the planet...Michelin Harmonies that dry rotted within 10K. These were placed on my Outback when I bought the car...I would have been better off with the half tread tires that were on the thing to begin with! Can't wait to go for a first drive on these tires :-)

Just an update, got the tires on tonight. Took the first 5 miles to get the stickers off. Did about another five miles after that.
Initial thoughts are: 1) Less noise than previous tires 2) More responsive, but its hard to tell because I just drop 10 miles 3) My brakes just suck, bad tires or new tires, crappy pads are still crappy pads 4) My god **** reman axle is leaking grease because the boot can be removed by hand... 5) Does my car like to meander to the right or is it just me? I have a ~50 mile round trip commute. So I'll post up on Thursday since i'm on 4-10 hour days. That will give me about a one hundred mile with mixed highway, turns, and traffic driving.
